Classic Punjabi Rajma Masala

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup kidney beans (soaked overnight)
  • 2 onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions:

  • Pressure cook soaked kidney beans with water until soft.
  • In a pan, heat oil, sauté onions until golden brown.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste, tomato puree, and spices. Cook until masala thickens.
  • Add cooked beans with water and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander and serve hot with basmati rice.
